'L'Appartement du Progres' is an exhibition about progress and sustainability in the form of a curated living space.
’Why should we insist on progress? Because economic inequality, disparity, and the faltering state of our environment are serious issues which design should help address.’ Founder, Marc Peridis
Carefully curating a tight selection of finely crafted design pieces, ‘L’Appartement’ challenges the myth that conscious, charitable and sustainable design must always sacrifice style. The exhibition brings together up-cycled chairs by Nina Tolstrup, pieces from Marni’s 100 chairs made through a charity program for Columbian ex-convicts, pieces by UK charity Out of the Dark, cabinets made from recycled newspaper by VIJ5 and sustainable pieces by Dian Simpson. Other participating designers include Merel Karhof, Yoav Reches and Studio Deform.
This January, 19 Greek Street will also host a series of creative talks with the designers and makers who were involved:
Thursday 15th January – Katrina Vermeeren
Friday 16th January – Jakub Pollag from Studio Deform
